A colony of Fungi

G’day everyone,

I stumbled across an old tree stump on my property that is covered in these little mushrooms (Shelf fungi). I have noticed in the last few weeks there has been a lot of fungi growing in the damper areas of the garden.

Unfortunately a lot the established trees around my property have been slowly dying, mainly because of their age. But some have fallen and snapped due to the strong winds we have been experiencing the past month. As a result of these dying trees I have seen quite a lot of this fungus growing on decaying trees.
