Spring in Bloom

After a few days of travelling around Japan it was lovely to come back home to a garden in full bloom.

As winter is pushed back and spring emerges, the fruit and ornamental trees and the small shrubs are all waking up from their slumber. Brand new foliage and flowers are flourishing along with the laughter of the kookaburras and the smell of spring in the air.


Most plants in the garden will be hungry and will most likely start getting thirsty as the new season begins. September is a busy month in the garden; feeding, watering and re-planting the vegetable patch are all on the to-do list for this month.


Here are a few photos of the bulbs that were popping up around the garden. Most of these bulbs I brought this year at the Tesselaar Gardening and Plants expo.
